Mac Laptop on table in oddly lit venue
The Portal to Other Worlds

Welcome, Visitor.

I am the Keeper of a Portal to Other Worlds.  This Portal allows me to access other places and times, and the beings who inhabit them.  There are countless Portals, but not everyone can recognize them for what they are, or understand the power they hold.   Although Portals are extraordinarily powerful, they often appear as mundane objects, such as laptops, books, paintings or musical instruments.  The most ancient of these Portals have almost no physical properties.  They exist only as words or music handed down through the millennia.

There is a picture of my Portal above.  Through it I can access beings from Other Worlds and Other Times.  It can also give me access to secret beings from this time and place.

At rest the Portal is quiet, until one of the beings from these worlds erupts onto my screen, usually in some sort of crisis. That is when my work as Keeper begins.  It is my job to channel what comes through the Portal, to put it all down for others to experience, for this is how these other beings come alive and live out their adventures.  The crisis may have to do with a broken heart, or murdering Outworlders.  Or it could be a visit from a member of a race of people who look like all the rest of us–only prettier–and who happen to have seven senses instead of the familiar five that most of us have.

Here’s the thing about being a Portal Keeper.  I’m not the only one, and I’m not a particularly notable one, but I do value my Portal and will gladly share what comes through it with any who are interested.  I can see that this world of ours is, at times, a difficult place.  The struggle to survive and to find a little happiness can be overwhelming and exhausting unless there is respite.

As a Keeper, I believe I can offer you that respite.  Step into my staging area here and leave behind your cares and responsibilities for just a little while.  The worlds and stories that come through this Portal might, at first, seem just as troubled as the world we live in.  However, there is a vital difference.

In the stories that arrive through my Portal, loyalty and friendship are as real as the Four Elements.  So are courage and love–always love, the kind that is deep and abiding, and simply stuffed full of romance, and the struggle to embrace true love in spite of seemingly insurmountable barriers or the characters’ own flaws.

I invite you to browse.  Use this conduit to my Portal to take a look at these stories, excerpts and articles–and let me know what you think!  Your comments about my task as Keeper, what you’ve liked and suggestions for what you’d like to see more of are appreciated.

Yours in the truth of the heart,

Leah Jean
